Rev. Antal and Laura Bair attended the training on June 29 and learned about the role clergy and faith communities can play in providing short term “safe space,” long term physical sanctuary, and accompaniment, also known as sanctuary in the streets. The UUCRT is in discernment about how best to participate in the New Sanctuary Coalition and support local immigrants in the community as well as those detained at the nearby Orange County Correctional Facility in Goshen.
