We encourage you to join with the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office and friends from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern in the Women’s March to Ban the Bomb next Saturday, June 17th, in New York City and around the world.
The Women’s March to Ban the Bomb is a women-led initiative building on bringing people together of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, races, abilities, nationalities, cultures, faiths, political affiliations and backgrounds to march and rally in New York City and around the world in support of negotiations taking place at the United Nations for a treaty banning nuclear weapons.
NYC March Directions: We will meet in the southwest corner of Bryant Park, on the corner of 6th Avenue and W 40th Street, starting at 12:00pm, then head to join the start of the march along W 41st Street between 6th Ave & Broadway at 12:30. The march will end at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza where the rally begins. Look for UUs wearing yellow “Standing on the Side of Love” t-shirts and the folks from UU Congregation at Rock Tavern will have a large banner reading “Imagine a world without nuclear weapons – Let’s make it happen!”
We hope many people will participate in this march and rally! This is one way we can come together as progressive people of faith and ensure our voices are heard on the global stage. Join Rev. Antal and Terri Pahucki on the first car of the metro train, departing Beacon Saturday morning at 9:58am.
