Election Day will eventually be behind us, but the counting might be far from complete for a while. Our congregation has worked hard, UU’d the vote, empowered as many voters as we could, in the hopes that justice, equity, and all our most cherished values will prevail. Now we rest and wait.
How can we stay grounded during election season? Election time can be tumultuous. The airwaves are filled with campaign ads, social media is buzzing with political debates, and it can feel like the world is in a constant state of flux.
In these moments, it’s crucial to find ways to stay grounded, maintain your sanity, and focus on what truly matters. Join us for a pre-election Vigil Sunday, November 3rd, 10:30 am to share some strategies to help you do just that. In closing, I will offer a prayer ” Offering Anchors of Calm”, written by Rev. Scott Tayler.
When the winds on your path begin to swirl,
may you find your breath.
May you remember and return to that still point
inside
that is always waiting to welcome you back
home.
And from that place of empowering peace,
may you be an anchor of calm
for those who need it as much as you.
Go in peace. Go in love.
Blessings,
Rev. Diane
