Responding to Coronavirus

Dear Members and Friends of the UUCRT:

In these unsettling times, I hope you can find some comfort in the knowledge that your UUCRT leadership is closely monitoring the situation and considering how to respond appropriately in order to protect the most vulnerable among us and provide continuity of spiritual care to our congregation.

As a first step, the Board has moved to close the building and cancel all in-person meetings, including Sunday service, until further notice. I fully support this move.

The Center for Disease Control is providing useful guidance for faith communities here.

The UUA is also taking action. The UUA UN Office has cancelled the in-person meeting for the Intergenerational Spring Seminar, scheduled for April 16-19. The seminar is now available free online. I hope you will join. For more guidance from the UUA, please read the message from the UUA President, the Reverend Susan Frederick-Gray, here.

I am recommending members and friends of the UUCRT connect by joining the Church of the Larger Fellowship online worship this Sunday at 8pm. To connect click here.

I will host a drop in conference call on Sunday mornings at 10:30am until the building re-opens. We can have time for announcements and sharing of joys and concerns, and a brief homily. The order of service and the call in information will be available for download on our website. We had some technical problems with our first two calls so we are currently searching for a new platform to host our calls. At an emergency meeting on March 22 the Board authorized a budget of $700 for the UUCRT to develop online and phone connections and we will implement that beginning March 29.

Should anyone need additional care and support in these times please contact me or a member of our care team. We will be reaching out by telephone in the coming days to members and friends to check on your well being.

Best regards,

CJA
