As a Peace Advocate Congregation, the UUCRT is committed to providing support to military personnel, and accepting our fair share of responsibility for what the US asks military personnel to do on our behalf.  The UUCRT extends a warm welcome to active duty cadets, as well as faculty and staff assigned to USMA, and their families. We are ready to listen and learn from your experiences, and partner with you in the complex task of creating peace.

Cadets who need assistance with transportation to our Sunday services should contact our minister.

Unitarians and Universalists have a long history of service within the US military.

Did you know General Sylvanus Thayer was a Unitarian?

The UUCRT has been a sponsor of Knights Out, the LGBTQ organization of USMA alumni, since the first public banquet in 2012. Members of the UUCRT attend the annual banquet and our minister provided the invocation in 2012, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Here UUCRT members Pasha Moffet and Cynthia Gilkerson sit with “firsties” as the 2017 banquet.

Our minister is available to the USMA community to officiate rites of passage that the assigned chaplains are either unwilling or unable to perform, such as a same sex wedding in the cadet chapel or a Unitarian funeral service.
